Hey guys,
For those w/the front bra hood piece... Has anybody kept the front bra piece on so long that when they took off the bra it left a shadow on the hood? If it did, what did you guys do to fix it? What would you guys do to prevent it?

Shadow meaning its clean under the bra as opposed to other parts of the car? Or not Dull like the other paint from weather/sun exposure? You could have the car detailed and get it polished and hope that fixed it.

I'm referring to the paint not turning dull from weather/sun exposure.
yeah, the paint under the bra doesn't dull up like the rest. Your best option to fix the unevenness is probably to get the entire car buffed/polished and then hand waxed. There are also some products, which can be applied to the car to help limit the amount of dulling, it's Shield something or something sheild.

A Nose Mask or Bra should be taken off periodicaly and the surface under it should be cleaned and waxed often. It's especially important to let the surface under the mask dry after it gets wet. Moisture that gets trapped under the mask can cloud and ruion your paint, especailly if it sits in the sun after it's wet. This should be stated in the directions that come with any nose mask.

Hey thanks for all the help guys,
by the way do any of you know what the two long bump things that go across on top of the hood bra piece are for? Do they act as a sort of deflector?

I don't know the intended design, but on my buddies '82 Z28, they were very effective at keeping bugs off the windshield. I guess this was because they make the airstream (and bugs) deflect up and over the windshield. I could be wrong for why, but I know when he had it on, bugs rarely splattered on his windshield. Without it on, they were all over it.Originally posted by felixdacat

I always thought that those two tabs helped keep the center of the mask down...that is, they would keep the mask from flapping up and down in the wind. I believe that as the wind passes over the car it hits the tabs which then press downward against the hood. It can't be just for looks because every mask that I've seen has them.
I think I read somewhere that they were called 'stabilizers' or something like that.
