Diffence Between 99 and 99.5 Max?

I purchased my 1999 Maxima new 2 weeks prior to the release of the 2000 Gen 5's. (Yes I knew they were releasing the new ones, but I got it for $15,000 spanking new... And it looks better)

Anyways, how can I tell if it is a 1999 or a 1999.5?

well if it is a 99.5 and its an "SE" it will most likely have SE embroidered floor mats, an "SE-L" badging. Or you could decode your VIN with the FAQ's (page 3) and figure out when it was produced at the factory.

99.5 is a Cali Spec car and I think most if not all are SE-Limited Editions.

Look in the driver's door jam. This is where you will find the build date. 99s were built in 9/98 and before. 10/98 and newer are considered 99.5's. The main difference is the ECU programing. (they are not compatible).
