I am going to build my motor a little, but i cant afford the downtime of pulling my engine to do it. Anybody who has gotten a new engine.. where did it come from? How much should i expect to pay? I dont think I am going to sleeve it (just pistons/rods/ maybe port and polish) so it has to be a relatively low miles motor.

Any thoughts?

i dunno about a new motor but if your going to build it anyway i'd say go look around at a few junkyards, i know the one i use to work at has a ton of them laying around since they dont blow very often they dont sell very often, price ranging anywhere from $500-1000 depending on miles and how complete it is

try out http://www.car-part.com/ for an idea of what you'd expect to pay from a salvage yard...and good luck, make sure to post of your engine rebuilding, and parts you've used, i've also pondered this idea...hope all goes well
