Procedure for flushing brake fluid
I just installed my second set of Porterfield 4S pads. This time I also changed the brake hardware kit, which included the shims and guides. I want to flush and replace the brake fluid, as it is at least 3 years old. What is the proper procedure for flushing the brake fluid? I do not have speed bleeders so I realize that this will be a two person job. I have read in shop talk that the proper order is (right rear, left front, left rear, right front), while I’ve read elsewhere that you start at the wheel furthest from the M/C and proceed to the next closest (right rear, left rear, right front, left front). Which way is correct? Also does it matter if you leave the bleeder valve open when purging out the old fluid, then once the new fluid comes through you start to close the valve when the brake pedal is released. Thanks for your response
