The MAP/BARO code has been on for ages and the Nissan techs can't seem to find the problem. They checked the hoses, solenoid, harness, and wires.

They wanted to blame the hybrid intake I have.

Two techs worked on it yesterday and later in the day they asked if I want an aftermarket or OEM ECU. Does an aftermarket unit exist for 98 Maximas??

I would ask the service tech about the differences between the 2 ECU's, like difference in price, quality, performance, and things like that.....Also ask about the manufacturer of the aftermarket one as well...

Just get all the info you can to make a good decision on which one to get
