Strange sound when starting

when i start the car in the morning, after it stood for about 12 hours or so, there is a sound like a rubber sneaker on a basketball court (high pitch rubber rubbing on wood sound). this only happens when the car stood for a while and lasts literally half a second, does anyone know what this can be????????

Sounds like your belt is too loose. Try tightening the tensioner a half-turn. Start it up and the squeak will probably be gone.

I have the same problem, but I don't know where the tensioner is. Do you have any pics or any links to any pics of it. I've never dealt with my belt before. Thanks!

I don't have any pics.....
Look down to the belt from above the engine. Right in the middle of all the pulleys there is a little tube sticking up toward the top of the engine. Mine also has a sticker on it that says something about tightening the tensioner after adjustment.
If you take the right front wheel and inner fender off, you could see the pulley that the tensioner is connected to. I had to retighten it after I installed my alternator.
