i'd probably have to say something like rustoleum, it's what i use at work for wiper arms and trailer hitches and what not, it seems to hold up. so pretty much anything that can withstand the rigors of weather changes.

Same here. I think I'll try the flat black rustoleum next weekend.

You should remove the wiper arms from the car

Sand them down so that the paint will stick better.
I used steel wool.

I used ordinary flat black spray paint. Rustoleum shoudl work just as well. You only need a single coat.

I did this over a year ago and they still look great.

good luck

I went with a satin black. It's a good compromise between flat and glossy. The paint has a little bit of luster to it and I did not have any problems with glare coming off the wiper arms.

Cool thread...I need to do mine as well.

BTW, I haven't looked closely yet, but is there a special way of taking the entire arm off?

all i did was pull it into the garage, mask off the windshield and the hood and the side mirrors and then sprayed black satin on them and now they are all black again...no complaints here, no need to take the arms off.

Clear coat them after you spray them black. Might keep them looking good longer.

The wiper-arm nut is typically reverse-threaded. So, if you take them off of the car (less risky than trying to mask everything off, and cheaper if you don't have plastic or newspapers) using a socket wrench, try "loosening" in the opposite direction normal (normal: righty-tighty, lefty-loosey....).
I did this to my Honda with a gloss black...bad idea (without a clear coat) cause they just chipped a few months after.

I removed them, used a flat black paint and clear coated them. When you replace them, make sure the wiper arm is put in properly as it will affect the area covered by the wiper blade.

I'm guessing that you could probably just use black touchup paint, then put some clear coat on too if you wanted. I work in a body shop so I could get some touchup paint for free and see how it works for me.
I'll try it and post afterwards.
