My A/C only cools in 25 degree weather... Are they all like that?

Hey,
As it says in the subject, my AC only works when it's not too hot out. It works, it's just better to keep the windows open if it's over 25 degrees! Are all the Maxima's week on the A/C or is it just mine?
If it's just mine, would 'recharging' it help? Or can a 95 GXE be recharged?
I need it as I travel with work a lot, and have to be dressed when I do. Even if I can keep the car down to 25 degrees when it's 33 outside!
I do not have climate control, just basic setup.

Thanks,
dave

Have the system checked by a qualified A/C tech. You probably just need a bost of R134.

go to autozone and plug a can of 134a into the Low pressure valve while using a gauge to measure the pressure. It easy as hell and can save you some money beofre going to a pro..just make sure to use the adapter kit that comes with the gauge.

both maximas i have will practically blow snow out of the vents, but my 3rd gen had the same problem, do like they said and have you levels checked, it might need recharged/refilled

good luck

I agree, my 99 is ice cold. I have Black Leather too and I can get it down right chilly in my car.

A sun shade helps out quite a bit in keeping the interrior from getting piping hot. Your A/C will cool your car off so much faster if you put a shade in it or park where there's some shade.

I noticed that too. If I put the sunshade on before leaving it parked in sun - the A/C cools a whole lot better. It's been close to 100 degrees here in Central TX the past few days the A/C works pretty well. I don't put the fan more than #2 position either.

AC
Thanks for the input guys.
I took it to a garage yesterday afternoon.
They tested it for leaks, etc. didn't find any.
They added 2 lbs pressure (something low, 1 or 2 lbs).
It seems cooler, but it's also not hot here right now.

Is is possible that only 1 or 2 lbs could make that much difference??
How many lbs pressure is there in the lines?

Thanks again!
