My Dual Exhaust project FINALLY complete...pics inside!!..

Hey guys/gals...

After a lot of headaches this weekend, i finally got my exhuast complete. I used a DynoMax Super Turbo Muffler(4.5 x. 9.5 x 18.5) with 3.5 x 8 inch stainless chrome resonated tips. The sound is great, i kinda regretted it at first yesterday as i had HORRIBLE drone. I mean, i couldnt cruse in 4th or 5th at like 35mph without BAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. But this was without the tips or pipping, just the muffler. Now however, its PERFECT, the tips (which are resonated) along with the pipping muted the exhuast ALOT. Its a nice deep throaty sound now. And NO DRONE. The shop used exhuast paint and painted the pipping going across so you cant see it. I know you can see the muffler, thats gonna change, gonna paint it black. Im also lowering it, so you wont see it as much...

Anyways, sorry for the babble...heres the pics, sorry for the dirty *** car...

Whatcha guys think?!

That is cheap. I thought you were dumb enough to get that CUSTOMMAXIMA cat-back, sorry about that. I actually thought of getting a CAMARO turbo exhaust and getting that done sometime...

LOL, 700+ for a cat back?!!? i think NOT. Yeah, i thought of the camaro style, but their too loud (at least the Flowmasters are). You also have to wrap one side around the tire well and relocate the "black box"...

Looks nice, have you felt any torque loss because of the extra pipeing? v6 Mustangs tend to loose some torque with big pipeing on a dual exhaust convertion.

with a camaro style exhaust you do not need to move the black box. Flow masters are not that loud. Actually of all of the people that i know with exhausts, mine is the quietest!

not tryin to be picky, but the muffler on the left hand side seems to be a little bit tilted to the left, also ur outter red/clear tail doesn't really match with the inner tail

That looks very clean and nice. It's not a performance gain, but it does look good.

How do you know? How do we know that this setup, or the camaro setup doesn't provide gains through the extra piping? How do we know it doesn't add more torque, or HP, or take away HP? How do we really know without numerous dynos?

looks very clean. i'd love to take a look at it from the bottom to see your layout. $150 is a very good price. my shop quoted me roughly the same for parts and labor. too bad i don't have a V6 anymore...

Wow, lots of replies...

RedMax: for a camaro style muffler, you must relocate the black box, its in the way...No going around or under it...

190hpKilla: Yes, its only one muffler, 2 wont fit obviously. me and my friend cut the bumper, not finished with that yet. Got it done at a local muffler shop (the welding at least), and ill get pics of the bottom when i have time..

Happyricefob: please show me outter red clears that match the inner red clears...not made...dont really know what your getting at there. And if your talking about the lines on the RED part, its the flash. The mufflers not croked, its the picture

Thanks to all for the compliments, i need to get my hand on someone who has a Video Cam who can upload to the net, and ill get some sound clips up...

So you have 1 stock muffler and one turbo muffler? Or 1 muffler and 2 pipes coming from it? Also what size piping did you use? I just want to see how it compares to mustangs cause I am planning on getting duals with 2.25" pipes.

looks good, i was comtemplating the duals, but i didnt want to spend the money. but $150 is awesome. i am starting to think about it again.

but my car is mainly performance oriented at the moment, so which will provide overall better gain? preferably down low, single muffler duals, or a custom b-pipe with muffler?

Noticed the same thing, but it still looks great and for a 130 bucks you can't beat that with a stick! I thought about going at my bumper with a dremel.

still not noticing the red clear thing you people are talking about...

And 99MustangV6, i have ONE DynoMax super turbo muffler, its what you see on the passenger side (not for long though) with TWO pipes...And the piping is 2.25...

the tips are perfectly sticking out but i would make them a little closer to the bumper. Overall nice setup. You should get a dual exhaust back bumper kit to complete the look.

I think it looks good; of course, with a custum rear valence (like the skyline) that has dual exhaust cut-outs, it would really look sick.

can ya post some pics? If im thinking correctly, with a camaro style muffler you must go around the tire well, no? I know craig did it that way...

It would look better with a custom rear bumper of course, but im not interested in a bodykit...least not in the immediate future. Im gonna work on the cut out some more when i get time, ill post some newer pics when i finish working on it...

Looks tight man, nice job. The only suggestion I would have is to Dremel the original cutout so it matches the one on the left. Way to rep the beige.

you know, actually yes, there is a difference. Its not something i felt, but rather i saw. Heres the story:

I race my friend MaxPowerX's stock except for a K&N filter 99 Max frequently, well i never pull on him, i have a Ypipe, and homemade intake. Weeeell, yesterday night, we both pull up to a light and he says "wanna see if the those tires help ya". So we go. Of course i blotch the luanch, dumped the clutch, spun all through 1st. By the time we shift into 2nd, he has a FULL car if not more on me. Well, by the time we shut down at around 120mph, i pulled on him about 1 full car. My car just seems to pull alot more on the upper revs where it used to choke out, so im satisfied, and i think it was money well spent in the performance and looks department...
