Nissan Matic-D ATF versus Dexron III

Is there much of a difference between these two ATF's? Is the shift smoother with Nissan Matic-D fluid?

Incidentally, does anyone know why the 'Search' facility does not work for me??

Thanks,

Eric

well here's one thing, I know with my Lexus, they will not warranty the tranny unless there is Toyota ATF fluid in there

I'm pretty sure its the same for Nissan too

and its really not expensive, what why i would use it... eheheh cept I have no auto tranny!!

I've wondered the same thing too. The book says to use Nissan Matic in America and Dextron III in Canada. Is Nissan Matic not avail up in Canada and why is Dextron not good enough here in America? Marketing maybe????

Lexus definetly requires toyota T4 in their cars, but while working at a lexus dealership myself I have never known them to test the fluid in the case of a rare transmission failure and I doubt nissan would
