Does anyone have JUST the $60 PR upper section hooked up to the stock box with nothing else? Or did I misread some of the postings, and in actuality, this would be impossible to do? If someone does have this setup, what do you think?

whow

You can use the placeracing piping and a cone filter element such as a k&n, stillen, jwt. But You cannot hookup a placeracing pipoing to the stock air box, i think that is mehanically impossible to perform and it would make no sense.

It is possible

That stock piece that the Place Racing upper part replaces acts as a resonator. The fittings on both ends of the Place Racing upper piece ARE identical to thestock one. It has to be so all hoses and clamps will fit it. Some people that use the Place Racing CAI actually keep this stock resonator piece on to keep some of the noise levels down. Just my .2 cents.
