Idle Air Control Valve

Idle Air Control Valve

To clean the Idle Air Control Valve,

1.remove tube.
2.spray TB cleaner in there or use a cloth to clean the inside???
3.???

yes and be sure to clean the butter fly thingy front and back. You know the little thing that moves when u press on the gas

I took those three bolts off the back of the manifold that hold the IACV onto the manifold...Its 3 bolts and one little bolt holding a braket that blocks you from the far bolt

Take it off, put it on a bench, take the little copper thing off )3 little screws) and spray all in there with cleaner...reinstall and your done

Make sure you dont lose those three little screws that hold the copper thing onto it...I lost em when I cleaned a buddies IACV... and had to break out the metal detector

i took mine completely apart, used lots of TB cleaner on all parts and re-assembled.

anyone got a photo of the IACV and its location? perhaps circled in an engine bay photo?

Yes a photo would be nice...how easyis this to do? I really want to do this. When you guys did this, did you see that it was clogged or anything wrong? Just wanted to know

I have my TB off right now and wanted to clean the IACV while I am at it. Is it the circular black piece of the bigger silver piece farther back in the engine bay. I think its the bigger one but I am not sure. OR, is it the piece with the idle adjustment screw on it? I am looking for my Haynes manual but can't find it.
