ball joint problem
I am replacing the lower balljoint on my 95 maxima and am having a problem. I have the control arm totally free, but the ball joint will not come out of the control arm. Does anyone know if it is pressed in or how it might be attached to the control arm? I hope i am not being too vague, thanks for any responses!

What are symptoms of a bad ball joint?
At low speeds, I can hear a metallic crunching noise that is intermittent. After working on the spring/strut assembly on that side several times, I'm pretty sure some other suspension component is amiss. Problem is, everything appears to be normal. For the life of me, can't tell where the noise is coming from. I am thinking maybe the control arm bushing is shot but don't know how to test it.
