Dealer Prices!?!?!?!?

I went to the dealership to get some things fixed on my car(rear O2 sensor and the knock sensor) and I got some prices and I was gonna run them by some of you who had gotten these replaced? The rear O2 price that I got including labor was $218.00 and the knock sensor was $350.00. If any of you can comment on these prices and let me know if they are the usual dealer prices or if they are outrageous! Should I try just a normal repair shop???

That's why they call them Stealerships. 02 sensor is $50 dollars cheaper at Pepboys from what I know and pretty easy to install. Knock sensor... I dunno all I know is that I gotta get one sometime this week

just call any other dealer, I like courtesy nissan:

http://www.courtesyparts.com/A32_O2-sensors.html for $120

And I remember the knock sensor was like around $100 - $140,

they both can be installed easily by yourself and there are instruction on the web that show you how you can do that, just search around (no, i've never install those two thing )

even if you go to the independent mechanic shop, they will charge you only 1 hour labor for installing those two, which is around $40 - $60

How the heck can they charge you that much?

I like www.thepartsbin.com. They have one of the prices around on parts. KS $115 and for O2 sensors $68 each for the front and the rear near catalytic converter $115.
DIY on O2 sensors and KS was not too hard to do. Look around for info and Just remember how to put everything back. I did mine two months ago.
Good Luck.
