Great, The reason I got the Yellow top one, ITs because I have those fake HID lights in my maxima. At night when I put my lights on I could hear my Altenator kicks in. thats when my car is parked and engine running. So I got this battery so it could help the altenator hopefully.

you can here your alternator "kick in"? I thought those were always on cause once you start your car, the battery is doing nothing unless you have so much electrical current draw that your alt. can't keep up, then it uses the batt for backup help. Thats why you can disconnect you battery after you start your car and everything will work fine (as long as the alt can provide enough amps)

Then I might be wrong. I thought it was the other way around. I thought Altenator kicks in when the battery voltage drops. to certain voltage, and then it charges the battery. but when every you have too much current pulling it altenator stays on. because as soon as I put my lights on I hear altenator going.

i've done this with my mustang before (disconnecting the batt with car on) and it worked, but the max could be diff. What you might here is either the alt being over tasked, as in it can't provide enough current or maybe the lights themselves (not sure why they would make any noise).

Anyone else have an idea?

That make sense. I think the ALT gets Over loaded. and thats why it makes a noise. hopefully the battery helps.

yeah, yellow tops are great. I had a red top in my old CRX, but my alt was only 60 amps and couldn't keep the batt charged and it ended up dying. I'm almost positive it died from the stereo because I blew 80 amp fuses all the time which means the batt had to be helping the little alternator out alot. But that is not a problem for us now since the max has a 100+ amp alt.

I have the yellowtop myself... Although it doesnt help that much during my peak loads (big stereo system)... but theoretically, it should have a lower impedance than normal oem batterys (can supply your current faster), can store more power, and since its deep cycle, it can still function at near 100% after full discharges.

$99.95 at AutoZone

Yellow or Red Top at AutoZone for $99.95 plus tax...cheaper than anywhere I've seen on the internet. Something this heavy with shipping charges will almost never be cheaper online.
