KYB Dust Boots/Bump Stops?

I saw these at cattman.com and was wondering what they are for. I know the dust boot part is to keep the springs clean/protected from dirt but what are the bump stops. I thought our Max's already had bumpstops, what do we need these new ones for. Are these things good to buy when replacing all the suspension parts and will these help reduce noise? thanks

the bumpstops are apart of the dustboot asssembly.... The KYB boots are designed to give your suspension better travel after you install lowering springs. I believe its up to a 1/2" more travel with these boots vs. OEM boots.

If you do a search, you'll find some members not happy with the kyb mounts. I was under the impression that the mounts include the bump stop and dust boots. I guess I'm wrong.

The KYB dustboots and bumpstops are fine- it is the KYB strut mounts that are junk. Check out the last page or so of the 4th gen FAQs for info on the KYB dustboots w/ integrated bump stops.
