I can buy all clears and spray the bottom section red with the VANS paint but that would run me about $250 if I got the clears from stillen... and there's the chance of messing them up too
A buddy of mine suggested that I just smoke the stock tails out so in the day they will look all black and blend with the rest of the car and at night the break lights will be red like normal and blinkers orange like normal (while in use)

no, I'm gonna have a 96 so there is no way, realistically, of getting red clear tails so I'm trying to think of an alternative way of getting rid of the orange without getting ugly altezzas...

IMO, that would look ugly.. but to each his own. Altezzas might be ugly, but smoking the outer tails would be pretty ghetto.

Haha yeah...i saw the "good 'ol days" pic...looks much better. I think it wouldn't have looked so bad if you had not smoked it that dark.

With the Dallas Tailight Mod, you basically take out the orange plastic piece inside from 97-99s and paint the inner portion flat black (or body color). You end up with clear tails that resemble smoke tint.
Give me an email and I can send some pics.

Not to sound like a D***, but I think the reds look worse than stock amber. Just my opinion I guess.
