sould be instructions on that site. its held on by a rectangular retaining clip and its clipped down into prongs under the center console. If you have ever seen how a 5speed shift boot is held then its basically the same concept.

I'm trying to picture this in my head. How would you see what gear you're in (D,R,N, etc...)?

Do you actually look at that when you go into gear? I don't, maybe because i've been driving for 7 years

Sometimes, yes. How does your driving for 7 years relate to my question?

No, not really. What are you talking about when you say "you wouldn't be able to see what gear you were in unless you mod'd it"?

Mod'd what?

Cool. So the manual shift boot snaps up to the auto plastic trim piece eh? I thought the manual trim piece was bigger than the auto trim piece.

Anyway it looks pretty good. Thanks for the pic.

why the fu(k you jumping all over all my posts? I don't know if it's possible but you might be able to take the black trim piece that surounds just the shifter and the prnd21 off of a car like a Grand Am(or a car that comes stock with an auto shift boot). The Grand Am comes with an auto shift boot, the prnd21 is to the left a little more so you can see the what gear your in and still have a shift boot. When I swap the radio out of my grand am to my max i'll compare em and see if it's possible but i'm not sure if it could be done.

If you'll take a couple of seconds and read what has transpired between you and I in this thread, you will realize that I was originally talking to someone else. You then stepped in with an irrelevant comment and a confused smiley directed towards me. Nice work.

Anyway, my question has been answered thanks to Nismo's pic above. I'm done here.

well, to answer your question- the auto and manual are different(manual is slightly larger opening) but the boot will fit under the auto trim- it just wont snap on but it will be sanwiched between the trim and the plastic under it.
