Stereo experts...new system, check it out! 1500 watts

Hey, I just bought an Alpine V12 MRV-1507 amplifier. 1500 x 1 watts. It says it is 900 watts RMS and 1500 watts Max power. My question is, is how do I know what subs I should hook up to it. The JL 12 W6's are 300 watts each, so would this amp be too much for 3 of them because it is rated at 1500 watts, or will it be perfect, because of the 900 watts RMS power? Or the Kicker solobaric 12L7's are rated at 750 watts each. Would these be better because it equals to the max power rating of 1500 watts? Any stereo expert opinions are greatly appreciated. What do you think will sound better? Thanks in advance.
when powering subs use at least 50-75% or the rms so if you have a 300 wrms sub then put 200-275 wrms to it.....max power is not constant you want to look at rms power which is what it will power all the time....you can put 100% rms on your sub(s) but you will need to turn the gain all the way down to keep from blowing them to be safe use the 50-75% rule of thumb.......
two 12w6 on that amp will be just about perfect...as long as you dont turn the amp up so high that it distorts, jl's will take all that power and even ask for some more. You will have to wire the subs in such a way that your amp gets a 1.5 ohm load bridged...this setup should pound..make
sure your power wire is large enough. that amp draws a lot of juice. check out my install page in my sig. for some install ideas..thanks

18 inch JL
How about hooking it up to a single 18 inch JL W6 subwoofer.
My friend is running a similar setup but he is running the new MTX 1000D amp with a single 18" JL W6. Later he will be buying another MTX 1000D and another 18" JL W6. But he is saving up for a new high output alternator from

18" only if you want an earthquake!!
With the 18", your not likely to get much "punch", but more of a brain shaking rummble. If that's your style, then go for it. If you had some 10's or 12's with another amp, I would also do the 18", but I'm more of a quality sound guy than an aftershock enthusiest. I like the punch of the base more than the rumble. If you like both. I'd go for the punch first and work on the rumble later.
I like the L7's, but the jl w6's are good....i thought the w6 could handle more than 300w rms...either way, you COULD blow them if you pump it up...like any speakers, distortion and power can blow them. It's not an excessive amount of power for 3 real good quality subs so t's nothing to worry about. Just tune the gain so it sounds good with the everything. Subs carry a year warranty, don't they? If they blow for any reason the manufacture replaces them for free (you should check into that)
BTW i heard you can hook up 3, 4ohm subs into bridge mode. You technically would be hooking up a 2.333 ohm load to the bride (2 ohm) but it is suppose to be fine since it's such low resistance and real world conditions are never exact.
I've never tried it, but have heard it works fine....call an audio shop or two and ask them.
