Towing a Uhaul

Has anyone here towed a Uhaul trailer with their Maxima? Can it be done? I am going to be moving from New Jersey to Arizona this summer and was wondering if I can rent a Uhaul trailer and tow it across the country. Ihave a 98 Max SE auto with 115k. Do I need a trailer hitch? Most importantly, is it safe to do this with my car?

I've towed trailers between LA and SF. Yes you will definately need a hitch installed. Uhaul actually does hitch installations and sales if you'd like to do it there, unless you want to do it yourself.

Yes it's safe, but keep in mind that you can probably only get a trailer that is 5x8x4' The hitch is only a class I and is only suppose to tow 2000lbs. Also your automatic transmission might be a possible problem, but I believe other people have done it. I have 0 problems doing it in my 5-speed.
