Question - Bi-xenon projector in 95 max
I am considering custom installing bi-xenon projectors my 95 max as a summer project. I have a few questions though:
1) Should I get 97 headlights considering my 95 headlights have the light directing lines? It would probably mess up the horizontal cut-off line right?
2) The bi-xenon projector has wires for the motor. Would I need to connect the positive wire to the high beam plug on the 9004 connector or do I connect it somewhere else?
3) I have a 9004 HID retrofit kit. The bi-xenon projector looks like it has a mounting base only for an H4 or H7 bulb. The bulb section should fit and all I would need to do is to fabricate a holding mechanism for the base of the bulb, right?
Here's a link for the projector:

ill try to help as i have thought of doing this too, but my budget doenst allow for it just yet...
here we go
1. yes u do want the 97+ lenses
2. yes u want to connect the positive wire on the projector to the pos. highbeam wire in the harness BUT... when we turn on our highbeams the low beam filament cuts off, so u need to find a way to make it stay on, so u dont lose your light
3. this is kinda hard, but if u can find out exactly what car it came out of, you could find out what kind of bulb it takes, my guess is its an OEM base bulb. also if u try to custome make something the focal point could be all off, making it not work very well at all
hope this helps

Re: Question - Bi-xenon projector in 95 max
I don't think a project like this is worth the time, unless u do have the time and money. Retrofitting a projector in a headlamp is definitely not easy... requires alot of time. Right now, i have a 9004 bi-xenon kit from HIDkits.com and i'm pretty happy with the light output. Light does scatter a little too high on my 96 headlamps, but what can i say, its so much brighter than crappy 9004 halogens...
And usually, projectors that come from a bmw or an audi will only fit D2S based bulbs. I'm not sure why would you want to buy an H4 or H7 bi-xenon kit when its not going to be plug and play into the projector.
Yea, i hafta say that focal point is very important too. Before, I had Lincoln Mark 8 HIDs in my headlamps, and they were bright, but the beam pattern was so terrible... light was all over the place and wasn't really aimed downward.
Anyway, hope this helps.
