To program the second one, you have to start from the beginning again. Program the first one, and then unlock the doors, without opening the door, and lock them again. Make sure the key is in the ACC position and hit the lock button on the second remote. You can add up to four on your car. . . Hope this helps.

2nd remote

I was wondering if you might have bought a used remote and reprogrammed it. I was thinking about doing that since one of my remote is missing. Those old remotes can be reprogrammed right?
thanks =)

You don't reprogram the remote. . . You just program the remote for the car. I think each has it's own frequency on it. You just have to get in the car and lock all the doors. You then stick the key in the ignition and pull it in and out like 6 times in 10 seconds. The front blinkers will flash and that means your system has been cleared of all previous remotes. You then turn the key to the ACC position and press the lock button on the remote. The blinkers will flash twice and that remote is programmed now for the car. Follow abouve instructions for adding a second remote, starting with unlocking the doors.

If you get another remote make sure it is for the generation car you have. 5th gen. remotes don't work with 4th gens. and vice versa. Hope this helps.

are the other functions retained?

do all the functions of the remote still work like holding the unlock button to lower the windows and popping the trunk?

Yeah, all functions of the remote are maintained. You lose nothing by addin more remores, just rememebr you have to program them all at the same time or they won't all work, even if you had them working before.
