I think thats going have to be a personal choice. Looking at your name, I say go for the wood. Wood tends to look more elegant and classy....=Pimp looking. The carbon is more of a racer look. Also cf tends to look better in black interior. I have it, pics are on my home page if you care to look.

Your lighter interior would probably look better with wood throughout!

Why not go black chrome or just chrome.
the wood just makes me think "caddy".

My car used to have wood trim, but it looked like crap due to cracks and discoloration...this was before I bought it. I replaced it with carbon fiber, and it looks great..with my beige interior.

Who's selling black chrome? I haven't come across any yet, I'd like to see what it looks like...

I wondered what brushed aluminum would look like with I30 handles, aluminum door inserts & sills, chrome pedals, chrome ebrake and shifter with the beige interior...anybody got any pics?

Take a look at the various kits installed. That should help you decide. Wood will tend to run nicely with the brown interior. If you don't have any CF anywhere in or on the car, I'd say forget it. But if you find you really like CF, then get a few other items to help match out the dash kit (like shifter, gauge panel).

A bit of a dark picture... I'll have to take some new ones (also have chrome gauge rings now).

Sorry to say, but you won't be all that different. There are a ton of Maxima.org members with aluminum dash kits. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. In fact, that has the best chance of giving you more of the pimp look. And there's definitely good quality aluminum gauge surrounds and shifters to find. Some of the best interior schemes done up are in aluminum. Post a request for people to show off their ride interiors.

I meant different as far as the beige interior w/aluminum. I know most people have the aluminum with darker interiors...

I have the same color scheme in my car. I think either would look okay, as long as you don't choose aluminum, in my opinon, i think that would look out of place. Those kits need charcoal or black. But I think if you want to go for a luxury look- wood is the choice, sporty? then CF would be it.
