Is there a reason that you want a CAI? Why not just get a ram air intake? NO drilling or cutting required, and yields the same hp

overall gains are the same but from what i heard cai give that extra power more in the low-mid range end and ram intakes put it more in the top end..i dont take my car over 4.5 k too often so i want my gain to be in the low - mid range..if the info i got was wrong.someone please correct me..

Stick or auto? I think that the frankencar gives good mid power too. That's what I have. I had that all by itself for a little while, then got the y and b put on. I would really recommend a ram intake.

Right. It goes almost to the edge of the "engine wall" if you will. I don't know exactly what it's called, but there.

That's not my car. just to let you know

Get the BOMZ CAI or a knockoff, they are aluminum, better than the Place Racing CAI imho and you can use it in hybrid mode too just like the frankencar.

Plus its much cheaper than either and you have two choices of configuration.

It doesnt seem to have all the parts needed. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Mwahahahaha. It said BOMZ, thats why I linked it (unless you're joking =X) So then someone find me one of the good ebay intakes? I'm an intake n00b. I want more than just the "cone filter" that I have now. =/

Yes, that is a hybrid, (BOMZ makes both) get the CAI, then you can use it in either mode, give yourself an option.

Sorry im kinda lost. Is that a good intake, the one that I linked? Does it have all the parts needed? How do you pick what mode you want? What options do I have with it and what are the advantages of each option? Is that intake worth it?

That one is a hybrid, get the CAI one with the other longer curved pipe as well, its not much more and then you can use it as a CAI or in Hybrid mode.

That one is ok, I just think for an extra few bucks the CAI one will give you the option of using it either way, then you can decide which one is better for you.

I see, so you say get the one that has the longer and more curved pipe, correct? Will it be so long to go into the fender? For a true CAI i would assume so. I really dont mind the short ones, where the filter is still visible and is sitting an top of the lower stock airbox peice.

Is this one interchangeable? By that I mean can it be a true CAI and in the fender, or if I want can it be in the engine bay on top of the lower part of the stock airbox:

Yup, thats the one. It will work in either mode. I use mine in hybrid mode but I can put the extra pipe on and use it as a CAI in the fender well too.

I also have another length of pipe which I use to extend the filter to the front of the car behind the headlight which I remove for racing. I also had to relocate the battery a bit to get it to fit.

That is just a modified BOMZ type, I got another piece of 3" aluminum and used it for an extension. Thats what good about the BOMZ you have some options.

cai- your extra 6-10 hp are in low and mid range
hybrid- your extra hp is gained in mid range
pop charger(i think this is the short ram you are talkign about)- top end hp gains.. peopel with auto report slight loss of power in low end.
