Crunchy noise when shifting

I just noticed last night that towards the bottom of the clutch pedal range there is a crunching sound/sensation that I feel. This is right about where my clutch engages. It's hard to describe but kind of feels like something is sticking. At first I thought it was my throw out bearing, but I don't think that the bearing would transmit sensations through our hydraulic clutch system. Could it be the clutch master cylinder? the fluid is right between min and max and the fluid is pretty clear. Has anyone else had the same thing?

Give us some more detail.

Does this happen if you're in neutral and depress/release the clutch pedal?
Does it happen only in 1st or 2nd or some other given gear?
Does the severity change with the gear you're leaving/engaging?
Do you depress the clutch when you're at a stoplight and hold it in or do you bring the car back to neutral?
How many miles on the current clutch/car?
Is it a stock or aftermarket clutch/flywheel?

Hmmmm...has the point that your clutch engages moved to a higher/lower point in the pedal stroke?
Is it any different if you sitting in neutral and revving the engine to say 4K and engaging/releasing the clutch pedal? When you hold the clutch pedal in do you get any type of recurring noise - chirp/squeal/chatter?

actually my car feels better today. i have a feeling it just may be some air in the clutch fluid lines. i will have to bleed them soon.
