How much did it change my gearing using 225/55/16?
I went to the track for the first time since putting on the new 225/55/16....how much do you think this hurt...and or made better my 1/4 mile times. I installed a y-pipe and short throw since my last outing to the track. I dropped about .250 off my time...but I'm wondering if I ran 215 if I woulda been even a little faster than that..perhaps broke into the 14's?? Thanks
Is it possible you have to change your launch technique to compansate for the new/different tires? Could track conditions be different? Are they a different tire than before or just a different size? Different rims or stock SE rims?
Do you think there might have been an effect due to the gearing change? According to this site the difference is only 1.7%, I doubt that could make much of a difference.

These are ....yokohama es100's versus....the toyo proxy fz4 I think they were. So I know this are more sticky and I bogged some...off the line. I tried to compensate on the next run and got to much wheel sping..lol. I just couldnt win. I think I need to drop them down to like 20psi next time.

Well like I did on the fz4's I was trying to launch with just feathering the gas and clutch below 2000rpms at one point I just kinda left it at 2000 rpms amd dropped the clutch some...it grabbed and bogged down..almost stalling but picked back up and still ran a 15.081 with a 2.5 60' time. I got them down to 2.35 later in the day by revving to abotu 2500rpms and feathering the clutch you get some wheel spin...but at least it helped some...but either way I still ran 15.0xx all night long..lol.
I chose to use the 225/55/16 becasue discounttire recommended it as teh plus one size..I wanted to fill up the wheel well a little more too..and if I remember correctly they had the 225/55 in stock and 225/50 were on backorder for a while. Do you likes the es100's...I think they grip pretty dog gone good for the price.

I love the ES100s! I went with 225/50 to minimize speedo "error". They're great in the dry & on wet roads, they grip solidly.
