exedy clutch in... tranny rebuilt! ride is sooo smooth now

well! after pulling the car for 10k miles w/ f-ed up differential bearings...

the 3rd gear, 4th gear, a couple synchros, and 2 bearings has been replaced, seals changed, and tranny cleaned up.

So far, I am still unsatisfied... i still have alot of play in the shifter and it still rattles a little when driving 65mph+ . I am going back to him after 200 miles for a checkup and see if he can take care of that ****.

The clutch feels soooooo nice! i swear, the car feels like brand new now. Let's hope it lasts now...

In 2 weeks, the car goes into the bodyshop for door replacement and painting, and then the car would also look brand new!

so far, 5 miles on the "brand-new" tranny

sorry to hear that! well, after learning your lesson the first time... i'd say get that tranny rebuilt... or maybe have your friend rebuild it for a good price? now we have pictures online to help us w/ the rebuild (frank's website: www.motorvate.ca )

The rebuild cost around $1200 w/ 1 year warranty. Let's hope it lasts for the rest of the car's life.

Well, I was driving it today... the clutch is real sweet right now! I did smell some tranny oil when I got outta the car after a nice 20 mi. drive in the heat... if it happens again, i'll check it out. No leaks and whatnot... I have to re-learn the shift points... 3rd is a ***** to get into again. I'm sure the guy used GL-5 tranny fluid too... either way, i'm going to dump at 1k miles, refill w/ GL-4, then dump at another 5k miles and put redline MT-90.

I also have the exedy clutch installed and it has about 1200 miles on it. DO you guys have any problem with a chatter in first if you dont give it enough gas( it doesnt bog down, ot chatters) and i also have this problem when i'm downshifting 3rd down to 2nd it chatters when releasing the clutch. Otherwise its smooth as can be. Any Ideas?

I haven't felt any chattering so far... but then again I only have 30 mi. on the clutch.

Chattering is usually solved by resurfacing the flywheel. I had chattering before on my previous clutch so I made sure they resurfaced my flywheel before putting the tranny back on. It is incredibly smooth though... then again, I did have a ****ty tranny for almost half a year.
