Question about the clutch
Question about the clutch
About a week or 2 ago I was bleeding the clutch and got all the air out of it that I could, while keeping the reservoir full as to not let more air in. Unfortunately when I push the clutch, it doesn't catch until it has moved about 1/3 of the way down towards the floor. It FEELS like it fully disengages (no strange shifting) and fully engages (no slipping when driving). However, the clutch is definately different than it was before I bled it. Because of this, I'm assuming there is still air in the lines (why it wouldn't come out when I was bleeding hte first time I don't know). The worst part is after doing this I had my wisdom teeth taken out, then it rained a lot, and then vacation was over. So I never got a chance to bleed the clutch fluid again. I drive about 40 total miles a day to a from work. If I continue to do this for another week or 2 (until I have time and access to the tools/driveway) will I be hurting anything?
I don't want to unnecessarily wear out the clutch or transmission.
Thanks

Why did you bleed the clutch to begin with? Nissan clutches are like that, it wont start engaging the clutch until your about 1/3 the way pressed in. Maybe im not clear on exactly what your problem is, please explain...
Id suggest getting some Russell Speed Bleeders, they work wonders
If there is air in your system you run the risk of ruining your seals of your clutch cylinder, although that wont happen overnight.

i bled it just because...well...i felt like getting any air that might be in there out. The first time I bled it, I ended up fully draining the reservoir and all fluid until nothing was in the system. then I filled it up and did the bleed all over again so there is fresh fluid in there now.
How long of a time are u talking about when damage to the cylinder can happen? weeks, months, years?
I don't want speed bleeders because, well, i dont bleed fluids much. Not worth the few dollars to me.
