Brighter Bulbs for the Instrument Panel

is there any place where i can get brighter bulbs for the instrument panel (speedometer, Tach..etc), i've colored the lights red but now it seems a bit dark, and some of them are already blown..

Your bulbs are #194 for the gauge cluster. Plenty of online retailers and autoparts stores should sell any number of brighter and/or colored lights in #194s.

i've checked online, most of the places have replacement bulbs, and the brighter ones are LED's, my friend tried LED's on his Civic but he says they dont last long and blow out, i had changed the color of the gauges by putting red acitate behind them, but they block most of the light, should i just take off the acitate and go with colored bulbs?

LEDs are pretty much luck of the draw. I had some red LEDs a while back that lasted me months while ny96max had some LEDs that lasted barely two weeks. Eventually, I just put in some regular orange 194s. Gave it a semi-Bimmer quality.

Shop around and search of the forums. I'm sure you'll find people who have suggested online retailers and brand names for 194s. But yes, take out the color paper and put in some bulbs instead.

FYI - Some LEDs like space around them to stay cool. Otherwise, they degrade in brightness pretty quickly.

my 99 doesn't have 194's, it has 12V lamps that go into a holder and 'twist' into place...i'm having trouble finding these in red.
