I just bought an APC Super Harness. Haven't installed it yet, but am about to...

I noticed that the box said that it can handle 100w bulbs now, but... it is ok to put in bulbs under that wattage? What if I put in some DOT approved bulbs like the PIAA's that run at 55w... will that affect performance of the bulbs?

And the fogs aren't affected by the wire harness at all, I'm sure. Right? So, how is it that everyone is running those high wattage H3's on their fogs? It should be 75w, but everyone seems to be going with 85w-135w.

You should be able to run a lower wattage bulbs even with the harness. The harness is used to obtain full potential out of higher wattage bulbs and so you don't melt anything. They don't offer an upgraded harness for the H-3's (Last time I checked) so I believe everyone that is running higher wattage fogs are just risking it. I also believe the OEM wattage is 55w H-3's.

I went through 2 pairs of H3 Superwhites. They were APC brand, and they were 100W, i think, or maybe 130W. Either way they blew in a few months. So, now I have one fog light, and I might consider taking out the stock fogs and putting in a PIAA 1100X or something like that.... Does the H3 Harness help at all?
