Just installed new rotors but may have problem, help?

I just installed some new brembo slotted/dimpled rotors and was going to install some new brake pads as well but the ones on my car already had plently of life left. So i reinstalled those. The car brakes fantastic now though, real smooth in a noticably shorter distance. But since my shocks are shot, the car feels like its going to flip over

1st. While doing the install I noticed my car had no brake pad shims, like they're just missing and the caliper is pushing directly on the pads, is that a serious problem?

2nd problem. This is a pic of my new rotors after maybe a mile of driving. Are those lines on the rotors a bad thing? Should I put the new pads on?

3rd. After doing some 70mph - 0 braking, my rotors were smoking a little, mostly the rear ones. Is that normal?
