Changing driver belts on 99SE

Just wanted to share my 'experience' (frustration) with changing the drive belts, maybe some one else could benefit.. The Haynes manual is a bit sketchy on the belt change... Took RF wheel off, removed inner plastic cover to gain access. The longer belt was not too bad - loosen the adjuster about 6 turns (accessed from above), loosen the nut on the outside of the idler pulley shaft (the pulley then sort of pops out and down a bit), then pop the belt off. Then the fun starts. To remove the power steering pump belt, after a good hour of fumbling, I found the following procedure should be used. First loosen the 14mm bolt on the BACK of the pump (way up inside, access from underneath. Be careful not to trash the O2 sensor wires that are near). Next, there is a 12mm bolt that locks the top of the adjusting slider. Getting a wrench on this is damn near impossible. I found it best to do it from above. Finally, turn the tension adjuster bolt itself (accessed from the bottom), and turn it CLOCKWISE to loosen the belt. I wish the Haynes manual was more explicit on this, especially about turning the adjuster bolt clockwise to relieve tension, and also that it has a locking bolt at the top as well... Next time will be much easier...
