i have heard of awesome gains(up to 45whp on dyno)but it is past the factory red line, so what i've heard is that there are no real gains w/the mevi alone until you extend the rev limiter via new ecu. Then again one person told me that you can adjust the mevi switch to open earlier. hopefully this helps.

hmm.... 45 whp seems nice Is that with factory Y, exhaust, and intake? Or were there upgraded components to achieve the 45 whp?

You should've looked Here beforehand. The gains associated with the MEVI are more or less at 5500 RPM+. Around town, it has been dyno proven to lose torque everywhere else in the rev range even with the ECU. 30+ WHP at redline might be nice, but your midrange will suffer to a certain extent. Depends on where you want the power.

what if you just get an updated jwt ecu ? You would get gains without losing torque, right ?

If you have the VI open early, you will lose power. It had to open exactly when the engine runs out of breath.

Nealoc187 went from a 13.9 to a 13.6 just by adding the ECU to his MEVI. I gained 2 tenths, but easily should have had more.

I went from consistent 14.6-14.7s@95-96mph to consistent 14.4-14.5s@97-99mph with the addition of the ECU. Hell, I even ran a 14.4 in 85 degree weather which is unheard of for my car. Now if I can get some better traction this fall I'm hoping for some 14.2s@100mph.
