Auto Transmission problem

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and I also am new to Maximas. I just bought a 98 Maxima with only 26,000 miles on it. Anyway, I noticed that the transmission shifts pretty roughly, mostly when it goes from first to second gear, it sort of jumps. They put new transmission fluid in when I bought it, and although they put too much in, i drained it a bit and it still has the problem. Anybody know of any reasons why it could be doing this? Thanks.

Re: Auto Transmission problem

Mine shifts roughly when cold, but once it warms up (takes a number of miles), it shifts smmothly.

There's nothing wrong with it, you will get used to it but you may want to take it to a dealer since you only have 26000 miles on it.

My wife's '96 has a hard 1-2 shift. Been like that since we've owned it.

My 97SE is like that but my 95 GXE is much slower, its the nature of the beast.
