Quiet Down Exhaust!!
#1
I was wondering if purchasing a 2k muffelr and istalling it would quiet down my exhast system a little. I have a y-pipe, just out a rt cat, and 2,25 exhaust no resonator and a magnaflow muffler. Right now it's too darn loud.
Any suggestions would be appreci8ted.

i have the same muffler you have w/o the y pipe and the sound is deep/cool; suspect the abscense of a resonator is making a lot of noise, change that if you want to quite it down, the magnaflow gives a deep sound, i don't consider it loud necessarily, I'm going to put the stock muffler back on again and see how it does with my current mods.

Quieting loud mufflers
1. Put "Road Kill" or other silencer mats in your trunk EVERYWHERE except the trunk lid. (makes it too heavy)
2. Spray sound deadening all over the trunk AND inside the 4 doors.
3. Put closed cell foam plug in your right fender inside bottom, up to the jack.
4.Remove mufler tip and get a Nakayama (sp.?) RESONATED tip. (from NOPI)
5. Put a good tint on your windows. (does cut down on interior noise a bit)
This is my solution and it works. I have a Cattman Y-pipe, R/T cat & Greddy cat-back. My custom air box -coming this summer- will cut down on induction noise from my K&N/ Stillen intake. It's still going to have a growl - just a much more subdued and refined growl...INSIDE. Outside it's still "rorty".

Loud exhaust
I had the same problem with my system. I have the only 3rd Gen. full WarpSpeed system. Y-pipe, Carsound cat, 2.5 409 SS b-pipe and High flow muffler. My it was loud. I added one of our resonators and it quieted down by approx. 25%. We have the resonators in stock. I don't have the fiqures here in front of me, but I know they are reasonable, and minimally affect flow. If your interested call Dallas at our 800#. Dan WSP

Dan: I got the Y-pipe and Carsound cat from you guys (waiting for the cat), and am in the process of buying a Greddy (just the muffler). I have a 96 GXE and all I'd be missing is the b-pipe. I know with those component I am going to be loud, what do you recommend? What kind of resonators you have, you think I can put two of them on the b-pipe? Also, is it worth it getting b-pipe from Courtesy, or should I just have my shop custom make one for me? Email me with price on resonators.

So, when will the new flex section be available for the Y-pipe?

new flex section
I talked to Dallas last night for a few min. He said he was promised them by monday, however I have heard this before. He said if they didn't come in as planned he would drive to our other supplier (who has them currently in stock) and pick up a few. Call Dallas or e-mail him for particulars.

The noise is from the Y-pipe. Think about guys, you're removing TWO precats from the exhaust. I use to have a HKS muffler on my car. READ: "use to" There is NO aftermarket muffler out there that will give you good quiet sound. The stock muffler is perfectly fine, IMO. Why? Because I wasn't any slower with it on.
