I was at another Max site and it said this.

The "Link-Door Stopp", PN# 80430-51U01 is what needed to be replaced when my front doors started "binding". They also called it a door stay on the work order. Nissan calls the part a "countermeasure part". Replaced under warranty. The rear doors had the new type part already.

So is this a recalled part or just something that is covered under a bumper to bumper warrenty? If I do have to buy it myself, how much would they cost?

I picked up a pair for the back doors - part #82430-51U00.

List price is $23.96 ea for both front or back.
www.nissanparts.cc sells for $18.26 plus shipping.

No recall for these. Should be covered under warranty if you still have it.

Hey Klymkow,

Your info could not have come at a better time. I needed to buy 3 door checks. My local dealer wanted $42.50 a piece. Almost ordered before checking the forum. Your info led me to the part for $18.26. Thanks for the free info.

Is this the black part that connects the door to the frame and exists between the upper and lower hinge? My drivers door swings opens all the way with just a little force (instead of stopping 1/2 way), and doesn't stay open if the car is facing foward on an incline. Would this be the part to replace?

Hey bb0ys,

You got the right piece. It's the little black strip between the two door hinges. I am assuming that is causing your loose door problems. On my car, it is the opposite. The passenger door and rear door are really stiff, and tight to open.

Guess your's may be worn out, and mine are brittle and stiff since no one really opens the doors much. For $18.26 a piece, I figure I will try it out, and if that's not the problem I have not lost to much in investment.

Per Klymkow's post, www.nissanparts.cc is the way to go. I sent them a email to verify the different part numbers. I think the back doors will be 82430-51u00 and the front door 80430-51u01. I am not sure if the fronts vary from driver side to passenger side as well as the backs. I'll let you know once I get a responce.

THanks

Those are the correct part numbers for the front and back.

They are the same number for left and right - simply turn it upside down for the other side (they are marked L on one side and R on the other).

Awesome thanks everyone. My next question is how would one remove and replace one of these? I never could see how they are held in there.

Just remove the door panel. After removing the mounting hardware (one bolt on door jamb and two on door) for the door check (or whatever they get called), it can be removed from the inside of the door.

Not very difficult. Be carful removing the door panel as the plastic snaps tend to pull off the panel itself and remain on the door.
