What cars (stock) can our 4th gens beat?

I'm going to have a 4th gen. in under a month, still waiting until I find the perfect one.

I'd like to know some cars on the road that I could beat if I were to race them. And some cars on the road that I couldn't beat.

I'm tired of all these riced out the fast and the furious cars, and I want to know which ones I can put in their place.

For example, and '98 accord v6 has 200 hp, but it also weighs 275 lbs. more in curb weight. Both cars stock, would I win?

This should be interesting, and thanks for the help.

car-stats.com is the perfect site for giving you an idea of what things can run, just remember, one of the most annouying things about those riced out fast and furious cars is that the drivers get cocky and like to run their mouth off about their cars, my advice to you is dont get to cocky, you made a great decision so far buying a max but do your research, find out what things could be fast which honda's may or may not be quick, all though most are not some are...know your cars so when you see somone boasting how fast their riced out civic, integra or eclipse is, you know whether you can beat them or not and then you can put them in their place and you'll feel good inside lol...this kid i know boasted for over a month about how his gsr was the fastest thing around and how he beat every car he raced, but he didnt realize all the cars he was racing were integra ls's and other things he knew he could beat, then a few days ago somone brought out their moms gtp pontiac and smoked him...i've never been so happy to see somone get beat before and i'll be even more happy when my trany gets fixed and I race him. anyway...good luck on finding a 4th gen, i hope your buying a 5spd and if you have the money go with a 97, i wish i did...good luck
later

How's that? The 4th gen feels more power than most in its class.

i dislike car stats because of the stats it gave my beloved 97 SE

Car-Stats
Obtained from MT April, 1997
0-60: 7.1 Transmission: Unknown
1/4 Mile: 15.5
1/4 Speed: 90

The Chariot would shame those numbers ! Guess I will have to hit the track to prove it !!!

Your question was stock vs stock. So I can't really say. you can check out my web page for some ideas from the stories section www.ceasarschariot.com

Trust me if you want some speed out of the 4th gen get a manual.

Ceasar, I want a Max JUST like yours. 1997, preferably a 5 spd, white with leather and a sun roof.

Since I am buying used I didn't limit myself to only 5 speeds. I would prefer a 5 speed, but I will not pass if a perfect max with an automatic transmission is found.

I liked the racing stories on your site man, pretty cool stuff.

Which just goes to further suggest that the weight difference between the 95-96 and 97-99 is substantial. I agree that mag racing sux, but the same source tested the '95 and got a quicker time. The quickest N/A max, none other than a '95.

Definitely take you time to find the right one:

1. 97 5 speed...skip the sunroof...extra weight.
2. 95 5 speed...new knock sensor...you will be set.

i will be posting my timeslips on that webpage, but its going to be another week or two. you guys can laugh at me weeping and crying if im in the mid 15's. I was planning to get over their this weekend but discovered bad cv boots. so getting that taken care of. i guess the bottom line is everyone thinks their max or car is the badest, until you get your tail handed to you. in my 97 i did the right thing in getting a 5 speed. my favorite maximas would have to be:

97SE MT (MY CAR)
95SE MT (would get this model over mine if doing it again in 97)
03SE MT (the fastest maxima of all times - this is the 1 right?)

Anyone looking for a Maxima Should really consider those. I keep telling my wife I need a 97 supra TT to go along with the max and she just gives me that look ! Then I say what about a 93 300ZX TT (still get that look)....then I spit out ,So I guess a Mitsubishi 3000GT TT VR4 is out of the question ?? NO Response ...ha ha ! dont get me wrong I love my maxima and will never part with it.

please do yourself a favor and try to get a five speed. Trust me, you wont regret it. Coming from two auto maximas, the 5-sp is much BETTER. I remember when i raced my friend's 02 celica gts with a cai. He beat me by 3-5 cars in my auto(stock). Few months later i come in a 5-sp(stock) while he upgraded to an expensive exhuast setup( I think it costed him $650). We went at it and we were dead even. second run i took him by half a car. get the 5-sp.

So you're saying that the auto 4th gen actually got faster in the 1/4 and trapped higher despite the weight gain?
