New Idea >>Shut off speed limeters
#1
I figured it out last night,If you pull out your meter fues
{This is on a 95 but probably will work other years}It deactivates your speedometer and odometer and I figure if the car does not now how fast it is going then the speedlimeter will not kick on.The only problem is with the fuse pulled you do not know how fast your going, so then you would need a G-TechPro or something.I don't have a speedlimeter but I am always thinking. You guys with the GXE's try it out and tell me if it works.

Ummm I am thinking no... The ECU keeps track of the RPM/MPH all you did is remove the Fuse which turns on all of the pretty lights in the dash... Remeber it is very hard to mess with the newer cars odometer readings... think about it do you really think removing the fuse bypasses the odomerter.. and or the speedometer/Tach...
But like I have said before I could be totally wrong...

For the 95-96 the odometers are anolog and not,
digital that may make it seem more understandable for you. When I took out my meter fuse yesterday and drove about 35 miles the odometer did not tach any miles on.Pulling the fuse did not affect the pretty dash lights they still worked. But like I said before I figure the computer might be getting the same signal as the speedometer does and by bypassing that reading it might deactivate the speedlimeter too.The only way we would really know if it works or not is if someone with a 95-96 tests it out.

SE do not have this problem nor does my car,
It's just a silly idea that might work on 95-96 GXE and maybe newer ones. You can get a Jim Wolf ecu that will fix the problem but that costs a lot of money. This idea is a possible mod that is free for the topspeed racer type.

It is under the dash with the others,
Don't pull it out though because my car has eperienced some problems like not driving after I pulled it out.It drives fine now after I put the fuse back in but now my stupid check engine light is on.I guess this was a stupid idea after all my appologys to any one who tried this.
