I just bought a 98 Maxima and the check engine light was on. The car came with all the maintanence paperwork since new and the light was diagnosed as being code P1440 - Aux. Emission Control Equip.??? the dealer said it was most probably the O2 sensors since the car has 96K miles on it.

I am just looking for a definition for the code, because their are 3 O2 sensors and they aren't cheap. I have the 2 forward ones and have the rear one ordered. What else could this mean??
