Anybody heard of Matrix springs?

There's a local shop in town that had a catalog they were showing me filled with aftermarket parts. One of them was for Matrix springs, and it said they made springs for the 95-99 maxima. It said that the drop in the front was 2.25 inches and the drop in the back was 2 inches. Has anybody had experience with these springs or even the company? A search here and on google really didn't find much. Thanks in advance.

Is that what I had one the car? If you lower the car more, you'd better get some stiffer struts. The rears may be ok, but not so sure about the fronts.

How's she doing by the way?

A 2.25 inch drop leaves you with about 3/4 inch of suspension travel.

Basically, you can't drive around like that, it's dangerous.

A drop like that is for "show only."

The springs were only 125-150 so I just thought I would give them a look. I suppose those springs and 18's would be a bad combo then.

Hey Scott, the springs you have got on there now are Maxspeeds. The car is doing great, haven't had any problems and I did the 2nd oii change on it today. I'm taking all of my insurance/hail money and putting it right back into the car. I'll send you pictures once the whole project is complete. /hijack

If you're looking to lower, figure out exactly how high you'd rank each of "handling" "ride comfort" and "drop". And then pick a spring or coilover based on your preferences. Don't buy springs based on their price. Also there's a lot of good information here:
http://drewm.dyndns.org/~drew/maxfaq...MaximaHandling

All springs are close to each other in price, you'd be better off picking something that's suited to be "what you want" instead of "what you can afford".

It's not that I can't afford better ones, I was just wondering if these were of any quality at all. And just because something costs less doesn't mean that it is automatically a poor product. I know about all the OTHER springs, and was just wondering if there was any information on these. I do appreciate the help though.

I did do some research on springs before I bought. The only other springs I'd have considered were the H&Rs. The rest were too harsh for me. The Maxspeeds were a good middle road between H&R and sprints.

Glad the car is doing well for you. Should last at least to the 2nd century mark. Kind of neat to see someone enjoy it and treat it well like I did. You should stop own some time and I'llet you drive the '02 6 speed. My wife tells me it chirps 3rd gear. I can tell you it absolutely smokes 1st gear and leaves big strips in 2nd if you're not careful. :-) When you go out to CO with the car remember this tidbit. Ive had her out there 2 or 3 times. At VERY high alitutudes its a little hard to start (always was from day she came home). Just pump the gas to the floor and try again and she'll fire right up. It mentions it in the owners manual-just don't want you to freak out if it happens to you.

Matrix springs=boooooo!

friend had them put in and they are a very stiff ride.

grab the H&R's..they ride like stock

do NOT drop the front too low. i was a victim of it. take a look:

www.cardomain.com/id/chillinmax

there will be a small gap w/springs, but any lower and you'll get motion sickness
