Sorry about the empty post.
I have a 95 5-spd SE. When the car is in motion and I step on the gas there is a buzzing noise at precisely 1900-2200rpm, together with a little vibration feel on the gas pedal. This happens in all gears and only in that rpm range. However, if the car is parked and I rev it in neutral, no buzzing and vibration at all rpm range. Anyone have this problem before? Nothing major but a little uncomfortable.
Thanks for you input.

Just bought the car. Have not checked with the previous owner yet. But if it is indeed Y pipe, why wouldn't it buzz when rev in neutral while the car wasn't moving? Thanks.

i have an aftermarket y pipe. i highly doubt yours is. sorry no help here....i'd suggest your bring it to a mechanic, or better yet call up the previous owner and ask. if he says he doesn't know tell him he is paying for a mechanic to look at it or your bringing it back.

Could it be the engine mount or the tranny mount? I do notice a slight vibration at idle.

Well I checked again. I put the gear in neutral when the car is rolling at 40mph and revved the engine. No buzzing or vibration. Put it back to 4th and rev, it came back. Also there was almost no buzzing/vibration when I cruising at that rpm range in any gear. It happend only when I step on the gas. Really annoying because otherwise the car is flawless. Could somebody help me out?

Y-MAX, have you ever figured out what the noise was?
I have the same noise on mine and have lived it for the past year but now it's driving me nuts . It drove me to the point where I now drive my wife's Paseo instead of my Max.
At idle the noise can be heard in a quiet garage with the hood up and it sounds like it's resonating inside some empty space (a plastic box or something )and it's located somewhere close to the firewall, lower than IACV. It's definitely not the intake - I'm 100% sure. EGR membrane moves fine when tested.
I'm so ****ed. Right now I think it is THE MOST ANNOYING sound in the world. It's not a loud noise at all and it doesn't seem to be affecting anything else but it makes the VQ sound like it's working too hard at ~2000 rpms. No power loss though.
Anyone have any ideas?

Zirafa,
So far still no luck identifying the problem. But unlike yours, my engine idles quietly. The buzzing only happens around 2000rpm and I could feel a lot of vibration thru gas pedal and shift ****, which is ****ing me off!
I'll see if I can find a place to jack up my car and have someone driving it while I listen and watch from underneath. Good luck.

My engine also idles quietly but, as I said, if the car is in my garage and I know that sound is there I can kinda tune to just that sound and hear it. It's so faint, though, that I can't tell where it's coming from.
Anyways, since this happens only when engine is under load and you have a 5 speed, you could have someone pull the parking brake and try to take off in 1st while you listen for the sound. Just make sure you dont stand in front of the car - stay on the side. Also don't do it for more than a few seconds at a time - you don't want to fry your clutch.
