When turning at slow speeds I can feel a click/clack. And the other day reversing out of my garage I ahd the wheels turned slight as I reveresed,a dn then as I went over the end of our drive way I heard likea loud ping/clack Car drives fine, but sometimes I wonder if the wheels are going to fall of or soemthing, almost liek some play or something. I see no rips or tears in the cv boots, no grease anywhere. What could it be? Thanks in advance

It sounds like worn out strut bearings causing spring noise due to binding.

What about the metal rod between the two boots? Is that the tie rod? I can jiggle the rod on both sides (driver/passenger) Or si that something else?

Those are you tie rod ends. If there loose, have your front end checked. They should be replaced and your alignment reset. Do you notice your car wonders on the highway or the steering has more play then normal? Those are all signs of loose tie rods.

Ya there is play for sure and on the highway for sure. So it might just be the tie rods then, hopefully they're not too expensive....Any idea on $?? Thanks!!!

If it sounds like it's coming from the steering wheel and not within the car, take apart the steering column and look in there. Mine was making a cling-clang when I turned the wheel, and someties (although less noticible) when going over big bumps. There was a dampener that had come loose and was just hanging out.
