Having a hard finding why my car is overheating
Over the last 6 months my car have been overheating off and on. I hardly drive my car and hardly go far with it. Initially, we thought it was a small leak that we couldn't find. So we didn't think it was a big deal. I finally got around to changing the hoses and that didn't help. So I changed my thermomter and that didn't help too. So over the weekend I changed my radiator, and that still didn't work. wtf? One thing I did notice is my car seem to overheat alot faster when my A/C is on. What else could be causing the problem?
I've had the same problem with my 97 GLE. Last summer it got really bad, and I replaced the radiator, thermostat and the water pump bearing(s). Fixed the problem.
This summer, it started again - but I noticed that if I don't try to accelerate too hard, the temp. gauge goes back down - or if I maintain a constant speed. The temp. gauge starts going up in stop-and-go traffic or if I accelerate too hard.
Would like to know what you found out that works! I'm leery of taking it in for service, due to the problem last summer (filed a suit against the dealership since they replaced 2 parts that were perfectly fine - always ask to keep your old parts!)

therostat, water pump, radioor
to check water pump, have the car cold pref in morning.. open the radior cap. turn on the car. see if the coolant is beignpumped. u can compare the speed to one of your other cars with a good pump. goodluck bro..
kdarci.. try going to a different dealer in the area??
