2000cc vs 3000cc

I notice that the 0-60 time for the stock maxima with the 3000 engine is around 7.8 seconds. I read somewhere on the forum that the 3500cc was close to 1 second faster. I have a 2000cc engine so I am assuming from the figures above that my car should be running at most 9.8(2 seconds slower) in 0-60... but stock I am getting 13.5!!!
I wondering if the 7.8 time with the 3000cc is with alloy rims and if it is, could my 15" steel rims be responsible for the 3.5 seconds extra seconds?

Right now with the K&N filter and Y-pipe the car is running 10.5-11 but I know it can do better. My 95SE model feels a whole lot better than the GXE which has the mods. I will have to check the 0-60 in the SE tomorrow to compare them.

Thanks for any feedback.

the hp and tq difference is what makes the cars faster than others. If your 2L had the same power ratings as the 3L or 3.5L(WITH SAME WEIGHT) the speed would be very similar...

How are you measuring the 0-60 time?

If you are a using a stopwatch in your hand, dont bother. That isnt accurate enough to even worry about.

I think its around 190HP. I just want to know if the 15" STEEL rims could be responsible for a 2-3 second slower 0-60 time than a car with alloys.
Thanks.

The steel wheels won't make you 3 seconds slower. You are not gonna have 190hp out of a 2.0L engine - at least if you are it's because you're revving up to 7k rpm and your torque never gets about 125.

In the UK they sell the 3.0 with the auto (9s 0-60), the 2.0 manual (10s 0-60) and the 2.0 auto 13s 0-60. If you have the 2.0 auto, then 13s is about right.

Thanks Alot

Thanks for the the info on the 0-60. I'm not sure about the 190HP...I just posted the value that I saw on the vehicle specification sheet that we got from the japan dealer. The engine came with a factory installed VI...would the 190 be possible with that??
