Please help! I checked EVERYTHING!
Please help! I checked EVERYTHING!
I posted a thread before asking if anyone had any information on why my car won't start. I put the rebuilt transmission in, hooked every last thing up, bled the clutch all the way, had an experienced mechanic helping me, and i still cannot get it to start. On top of that, i can't shift into any gears. I think that may be from not having the gears and synchronizers lined up yet, need the engine to start to power them in place.
The car sounds like it wants to start, but just won't kick over.
I ran the code test from the ECU and it gave me 4 blinks, then 1. It came out to be either 0401, or 0410. These codes are both for sensors. The first is the air temp sensor located in the air intake box. In the process of doing all of the tranny work, i redid my intake. I made a custom one with the directions off of here. The directions don't say where to put the temp sensor, so i just hooked it up in order just to check it. Still did not start.
The other sensor was the one under the car on the exhaust. Though no exhaust was runnig through the pipes, the sensor was very hot.

Check the crank shaft position sensor (POS). It's under the car on the tranny bell housing twards the front. Make sure you didn't damage it when installing your transmission.
