99 Max and idle vibration
My 99 GLE has been having this problem for over a year. It only seems to happen while I'm at an idle state, after the engine is warmed up.
It sounds almost like the car is clearing its throat! It's a short (1/4 sec) muted throat clear as well, and it will happen several times until I start moving again. It's not something that happens every X seconds, rather it is like 1....2...3............4....5.....6
etc.
I can feel it thru the brake pedal. As I said, its not very strong, but it doesn't feel right.
I brought the car to a tranny place a year ago, but the guy that tested it (road only) couldn't see anything wrong with it, and of course it driving it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Sounds like a misfire at idle. Check the condition of each spark plug. If it's indeed a misfire you might see one plug come up a little dirty. That would be the coil pack in question, just replace it if thats the case.
You could have a lazy fuel injector as well.
