Replacing trunk cardboard for wood

I was just wondering what type of wood that was used in replacing the cardboard for wood. My subs have caused the week cardboard to sag and I was looking to replace it with something sturdier.

Thanks,
Fred

I'd get between 1/4 and 3/4 MDF. it would depend on the weight of your box.

I used 1/4 tempered hardboard from Home Depot. Used the existing trunk board as a pattern.

A jigsaw, drill, sandpaper and spray paint. Done in 30 minutes for less than $20.

Instead od spray painting I would get automotive carpet and glue it on.
This way you can also choose the color...

only reason I painted (I also covered it in foam) was for moisture resistance.
