suspension noise???

I have recently noticed a "high pitched" rubbing noise from the driver side wheel well at the top where the rubber mount that holds the coil bolts to the frame.

It happens turning left and right, stopped and moving, and at any speed. I watch the coil as I turn the wheel and it looks like the top mount for the coil is "rubbing" against the metal it bolts to. The passenger side does not do this.

I compared both side and they both rub and both move exactly the same-just one makes noise doing it and other does not.

I have sprayed lube up in there and it fixed it for a while but eventually came back.

I checked all the bolts that bolt in the coil mount and the shock and are all tight. The noise is very annoying and loud.

Anyone had this problem before?

btw=I have a 95SE automatic, all stock

Thanks for reply-did not know there were bearings up there.

Thanks for info!

btw-is this something that should be left up to local shop to do or can it be done by a "shadetree" mechanic?

Do you know how much the bearings cost (if you have bought them).

they should not be very expensive.if you have a strut compressor and air tools you should be able to do it.

don't sacrifice quality for cost,either do it yourself or take it to a real mechanic. i've had mostly bad experiences by trying to save a penny.
