Recently, my car has been idling very low (below 500 rpms), and sometimes it will stall when I stop. Does anyone have any idea as to what could cause this?

 

yes, my car used to do the same thing.

1. How long has it been since your last tune up ? If its been a long time, get a tune up.

2. Try cleaning your throttle body.

My car was doing the same thing. I got a tune up, and had the throttle body cleaned and the car is excellent. Hasnt died since , just think what it might be like again, not to have your car stall at red lights and stop signs ...i almost wrecked a couple of times fighting the steering wheel . good luck

 

clean your MAF sensor.

 

I vote throttle body needs to be cleaned. Never hurts and it is cheap.

 

I am kind of annoyed. I have seen instructions on cleaning tb many times, but now with no search I can't find any. Can someone give me a link please?

 

while doing TB, you may want to do IACV as well.

I cleaned my tb and it helped a bit. My car doesn't stall now, but it still idles just above 500 rpms. I guess I'll get a tune up and see how that helps.
