Cruise Control doesnt work after alternator replacement

I got a new altranator about 5 months ago with the recall and am about to go on a road trip to SoCal and my cruise control wont turn on. I can flip the switch and the green light comes on, but no matter what, i cant activate it...ive tried everything and it used to work so i know how to correctly use it. Any ideas? Its way too late to go back to the dealer!

bad relay? bad switch? nissan broke the cruise control motor while installing altinator?

there are two cables that attach to the throttle body. the one closest to the body is the throttle, linked to gas pedal. the other is the cruise cable. is it attached to hub?
